The problem

Nobody had one reliable view of anything.

Training records lived in spreadsheets. Session notes lived in shared documents. Scheduling lived in email threads. Every trainer kept things slightly differently, and version conflicts were routine — so the question "where is this trainee up to?" never had a quick, trustworthy answer.
